Listing Strategies for Different Types of Guests

As a Host, your role goes beyond just managing listings. It's about understanding your Guests and crafting targeted strategies to market your listings effectively.

Based on insights gathered from our recent Guests' NPS survey conducted back in July 2023, this article will help you navigate the diverse Guest types by providing strategies to cater to family travellers, test drivers, leisure travellers, and work commuters.

Family Travellers

They are looking for convenience, safety, and comfort during their journey. To attract them to your listings, consider the following strategies:

Family-Friendly Features: Highlight features like spacious interiors, ample storage, child-friendly amenities (e.g., car seats)

Travel Highlights: Mention family-friendly destinations and nearby attractions that are suitable for kids, such as parks, zoos, and recreational areas.

Emphasise Cleanliness: Ensure your listings are spotless. Mention regular cleaning routines and sanitisation protocols to give families peace of mind.

Targeted Marketing: Utilise platforms like Facebook groups for family travel enthusiasts (e.g. Malaysia Family Outing, Vacations & School Holiday Events), parenting forums, and local family event pages to reach your target audience effectively.

Test Drivers

Car enthusiasts and potential buyers who want to test-drive a vehicle before making a purchase can be valuable Guests. Tailor your listings for them with these strategies:

Clear Descriptions: Provide detailed information about the car's performance, specifications, and unique features that car enthusiasts will appreciate.

Highlight Performance: Showcase the vehicle's acceleration, handling, and any performance modifications. Include any data or metrics that demonstrate the car's capabilities.

Engage Car Enthusiast Groups: Leverage Facebook groups (e.g. Car Rent In Malaysia, MYVI CLUB MALAYSIA), online forums, and communities dedicated to car enthusiasts to promote your listings. These groups attract individuals passionate about cars.

Leisure Travellers

Leisure travellers seek adventure and relaxation. To attract them, implement the following strategies:

Time-Based Availability: Make your car available during long weekends, holidays, and peak travel seasons when leisure travellers are more likely to explore.

Utilise Travel Enthusiast Groups: Engage with travel-focused communities online, such as travel forums, blogs, and social media groups (e.g. Kaki Travel Malaysia) to market your listings effectively.

Work Commuters

For individuals seeking reliable and economical daily commuting options, consider these strategies:

Competitive Daily Rates: Adjust your pricing to rival other commuting alternatives. Highlight that using your car offers not only convenience but also affordability.

Prominence of Fuel Efficiency: Emphasise the car's fuel efficiency and its potential for reducing daily commuting expenses.

Multi-Platform Promotion: Promote your listings on professional networks such as LinkedIn and local classified websites like "Mudah.my" and "Facebook Marketplace" for heightened visibility.

Successfully managing your listings requires a deep understanding of your Guests' needs and preferences.

By tailoring your strategies to cater to a diverse group of Guests, you'll create listings that stand out and attract the right audience. Happy hosting!
